Hello
New Record Power V100 woodturning jaws for large & heavy pieces available to pre-order with delivery expected in October.
The V50 50mm VersaLock jaws have been very popular with woodturners and they have shown their worth many times over on smaller items, these continue to be a valuable addition to your jaw set.
The new V100 VersaLock Jaws and inserts are much more capable of holding larger and heavier pieces of work. They start with a 100mm base jaw, double the V50 base jaw and there is a useful selection of jaw inserts to suit multiple scenarios.
Please note that the V100 series of jaws are not compatible with the original V50 Jaws/inserts. V100 base jaws are required to hold the new V100 jaw inserts.
The jaws will fit on the Record Power Victory, SC4 & SC3 chucks. In addition that can also be mounted onto the Robert Sorby Patriot and NOVA G3 & SuperNova 2 chucks.
The 3 package deals including the Victory chuck and the new V100 jaws are for M33, M33 ASR and 1 1/4" x 8tpi spindles.
Record Power supply Victory chucks as an M33 and M33 (ASR) version. Which one should I use for my M33 threaded lathe?
If your lathe has an M33 x 3.5 tpi spindle then the standard M33 x 3.5 tpi chuck is perfect for you.
If you have an ASR compatible spindle (identified by a groove at the back of the spindle nose thread, then use the M33 (ASR) version chuck. Please note that ASR locking rings are not supplied.
Can I use the ASR version on a standard M33 spindle without the groove?
Yes as there is a threaded hole In the ASR spigot to allow a grubscrew to be fitted to lock the chuck on to the spindle for safety.
